ABOUT THE PROJECT
At Wingu we seek to create a model solution that works organically, helping to reduce processing times of agendas, shifts and attention, that can be interoperable and become the bridge between the different existing solutions. In this way, we use multiple tools and methodologies to solve the usability and specific demand.
After more than a year of work, discovery sessions and feedback, we developed Red Salud. This is the first online digital passbook in the city of Salta, so that its population can access all public health services in the Southern Zone.
In 2021, a team from the Papa Francisco Hospital won the Más SALUD contest organized by the Bunge y Born Foundation (FBB). From there and with the support of the Ministry of Health and the Secretariat of Modernization of Salta, Wingu developed this tool collaboratively with the other actors of the project.
Red Salud is a free web app that, through geolocation, seeks to effectively and efficiently meet the health demands throughout the southern operational area of the capital city of the province of Salta, Argentina.

The Papa Francisco Hospital belongs to the level three of complexity in health care, being the head of the operative area and reference to other neighboring areas. Outpatient and inpatient care is available in the four basic clinics plus some critical specialties. It also has diagnostic support services and medium complexity treatment.
The 30 health centers under its responsibility are staffed by professionals who reside in the locality and belong to the areas of General Medicine, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Dentistry, Nutrition and in some cases routine laboratory. It serves a population of 350,000 people.
THE CHALLENGE
Improve access to health care.
Our goal is to deliver a product that facilitates the creation of professional agendas to the administrative staff of the southern operational area. Once the availabilities and blocks have been integrated, the agendas are published and citizens are provided with an app for direct appointment taking.
THE ROAD
Creating cohesion among complex work teams: this huge project involved technology, design, administrative staff and healthcare professionals to optimize existing work processes.
Generation of trust: the continuous discovery process allowed us to understand that most of the people involved in the processes of managing agendas and taking turns had never coincided in the same space and time. Not only that, many people had different views about each other’s roles and responsibilities.
From different dynamics, we understood the pain points and sought to favor collective intelligence to: know the opportunities, diverge on the different ways to solve the challenges and agree on the scope of the project.
The same team was then able to prioritize the most important functionalities to build a technological roadmap, and these collective decisions were fundamental for clarity and subsequent adoption.

IMPACT
Red Salud is available in all locations in the southern area of the city of Salta. The estimated reach of the beneficiary population of this tool is more than 300,000 people, who will be able to easily and securely access the health services they need.
More than 500 people per month have used the tool since its launch, a number that increases as the tool is disseminated in the health centers in Salta where the tool and its dissemination materials are available.

Red Salud offers you all the information about each specialty before arriving at the Hospital or health center selected: schedules, specialist, address, etc.

The user chooses where to be attended depending on the care sought and the distance.

What we are trying to do is to tell how we first work internally by standardizing processes, integrating the operational area through the health centers and making the updated health services offer visible. Then the second step will be to optimize the process of creating professional agendas to finally grant appointments to patients through the app.
